Registration is required for participation in the SHARP 2025 conference. The registration deadline is Monday, June 9.
Rates
Early bird (ends Thursday, May 1):
$350: Standard
$225: Reduced (students, independent scholars, retired, unwaged, underemployed)
$150: Participation via proxy or recording
Free: Rochester community members (including UR and RIT)
Standard registration fees (after May 1):
$400: Standard
$325: Reduced ((students, independent scholars, retired, unwaged, underemployed))
$150: Proxy / Recording
Free: Rochester community members (including UR and RIT)
Registration fees include receptions, coffee and breaks on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and other amenities.
Presentation modalities
We recognize that many of our participants may be unable to travel to Rochester, for various reasons. While we are unable to pivot to a hybrid conference, we have developed two alternative modalities for presentations: presentation via proxy (in which another participants reads your paper) and, for pre-organized panels, presentation via recording. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate presentations via recordings for individual paper submissions, due to IT staff capacity constraints.
When you register, you can select if you'd like to present via proxy or recording, or if you'd like to volunteer to be a proxy presenter.
Please note: if a participant in a pre-organized panel would like to present via recording, it is the responsibility of the panel organizers to facilitate the presentation. Please contact us for best practices on recording presentations and handling playback during the conference.
SHARP membership
Membership in SHARP is required for all presenters, including those who are presenting by proxy or recording. You can join SHARP here: https://sharpweb.org/membership/
Additional information
After you register, you will be prompted to answer questions about accommodations, dietary restrictions, and childcare in Rochester. You will also be able to select if you wish to present via proxy or recording, or if you wish to volunteer to be a proxy. You can also register for optional excursions (more information here).
Refunds
In the event that you are not able to participate, refunds can be requested up to Monday, June 9. You can request a refund by emailing us at sharp.rochester2025@gmail.com.
